The concert will start at 7:30 pm. I'll sing you some of my favorite songs from over the years, with tenor ukulele, banjo, and guitar accompaniments. I may tuck in a story here and there. After the concert we'll take a short break, and then gather for our post-concert reception on Zoom starting at 9 pm.

From Lui: Oh my, what a year it has been. Since you heard from me last winter, all of our lives have changed dramatically. Along with the advent of COVID and the end of in-person concerts, my plan to retire from teaching so I could sing and perform full time went out the window. Instead, I immersed myself in creating an online music experience for the families in my local classes. I don't have to tell you about the technical challenges involved in that adventure, but that all seems very long ago, now that teaching via Zoom is second nature. Once I realized how much fun we could have online, my local classes morphed into a comprehensive 3-year lower elementary music program (grades K-2), called Come Jam With Me, that started up on Podia this fall! See the Podia link below if you're curious.
I've been keeping my sanity through a number of things, including the deep dive into this fairly daunting work, daily walks, kayaking on the river, and gardening. My favorite daily routine is a video story time with one of my grandsons. But, of course, all of the 2020 concerts I was looking forward to have been cancelled, including, sadly, my annual Solstice concerts in Milton and Montague.
But now I have exciting news for you! Ahrre Maros of Evergreen House Concerts in New Jersey, where I'd scheduled a concert for this fall, has teamed up with his friend Peter Shafran, of River Spirit Music, to host a livestream concert for me!! Peter's professional tech crew will send me all the equipment, which I'll set up in my living room. Then they'll run the whole thing remotely - all I have to do is sing!
I'm so excited to have this opportunity to sing for you! I've been putting together some of my favorite songs from over the years, and I'm really looking forward to the evening. The concert will be recorded using a 360° camera, bringing you into my living room, right there with me in a front row seat. After the concert, starting at 9 pm, we'll gather for an informal post-concert reception on Zoom, where we can just hang out together awhile. See below for more details.
I really hope you can make it, because I'd love to sing for you again. I can't wait to see you!
Warmly,
Lui
