Peterborough Folk Music's feature head-liners are often nationally known musicians. We do however try to have openers for some of our shows. Program Director, Deb McWethy, attends many festivals during the summer and often hires musicians she has enjoyed getting to know in that way. "I enjoy hiring musicians I have seen for myself or who friends have seen and recommended."
Musicians are also booked for house concerts in Deb's home in Harrisville, NH. These musicians are mid-level nationally known acts. "Here again, I hire musicians I have just met at festivals or are strongly recommended and who are acts I want to eventually present to the PFM stage either as openers or a co-bill."
As of 2017, we are also presenting musicians in a smaller room (95 capacity). The room is Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center, 19 Grove St. Peterborough, NH. This is very exciting for us to now also be able to work with rising musicians, a variety of sounds, bands to solo or duos and introduce another entirely different talented group of musicians as well as continue promoting the musicians who have played at Deb's which is a 50 seat room. We now have three rooms to promote musicians and introduce our audiences to much more music in the Monadnock region.
